Median Household Value

The map which depicts weights 1 and weights 2 shows the deciding factors for selecting the location for the home. Weight 1 depicts an equal overlay. Each factor is equally contrasted within the map. Weight 2 is not an equal overlay. The college and hospital, being more important factors as the home owners will commute there on a daily basis, is weighted at 40% and the other factors only at 10%. The map results between the weights 1 and2 are slightly similar but do have noticeable differences. The “preferred selections” on each map depict the areas that best meet the criteria in the overlay. A specific area by the hospital meets the criteria best in both maps, however, in the weight 2 map, location options move to the east of the hospital and yet still in the general area of the college as well. In the weight 1 map, the areas that best meet the criteria actually move away from the hospital and college. The weight 2 map with the heavier emphasis on the college and hospital provide a more practical option as they offer areas within reasonable distance of the cardiologists and professors place of work while still considering the other factors.
